Transire is a free residential advanced training programme for young contemporary dance artists, focusing on the development of artistic, creative, organisational and professional skills to support their entry into the performing arts sector.
Developed by Compagnia degli Istanti in partnership with La CAP Re|Hub and funded by the Tuscany Region through the FSE+ 2021–2027 programme, the project supports six young dancers and choreographers aged 18 to 35 in their professional development through non-formal training, artistic research, mentoring, exchange with industry professionals, and the creation of original creative projects.
The program


Participants will be guided by leading national and international teachers, artists, professionals and mentors throughout a process of research, experimentation and growth, developing the awareness and tools needed to advance their artistic and professional careers.
Particular attention will also be given to practical skills, professional development, and the positioning of the practitioners within the contemporary performing arts sector.

The residential path includes:

Three residency sections:
-Period 1: 16.11-2.12 (17 days) at La CAP Re|Hub curated by Compagnia degli Istanti.
-Period 2: 11.01-30.01 (20 days) at La CAP Re|Hub curated by La CAP Re|Hub.
-Period 3: 1.04-17.04 (17 days) at Teatro di Settignano and Teatro dell'Affratellamento (Florence) curated by Compagnia degli Istanti.​​​

Accommodation and use of the studio.

Total grant of €1,650 (calculated at a rate of €25 per day of participation).

Seminars, guided research labs and practice workshops on body, dance and performative practices: contemporary dance practices, improvisation and composition tools, choreographic research.

Research and creative thinking: dramaturgy, anthropology, and artistic research methodologies.

Professional development and positioning: understanding the contemporary choreographic and performing arts ecosystem, including presentation contexts and tools for articulating and positioning one’s artistic practice, as well as cultural project development.

Staging and project tools: practical skills for bringing a work to the stage, including lighting, filming, sound and set.

Professional development: mentoring, career guidance and sharing opportunities with industry professionals and cultural operators.

Development of an individual choreographic or performance project throughout the programme, with the guidance and support of the mentors and tutors.​​​​​
