Exploring Acrodance
Workshop with Davide Bonetti
A fusion of acrobatics and dance: in acrodance, jumps, balances, and acrobatic movements merge with the fluidity of contemporary dance, creating dynamic, elegant, and surprising choreography, all grounded on the floor.
Over the course of the two-day, the workshop will focus on specific warm-up exercises, acrobatic technique applied to dance, and moments of movement research and improvisation. The aim is to develop strength, fluidity, and awareness of floor-based movement, integrating acrobatics and dance in an organic way.
The workshop is open to all levels, particularly for those who practice contemporary dance, have a background in acrobatics, or wish to explore a dynamic, grounded, and fluid movement quality.
Recommended clothing: long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and socks for comfort and protection.
ABOUT
Davide Bonetti is a professional acrodancer. At 18, he entered the FLIC contemporary circus school in Turin as an acrobat, where he specialized in handstands and vertical work. At 22, he continued his training at CNAC (Centre National des Arts du Cirque) in France, where he embraced a more fluid and organic approach to acrobatics—what we now call acrodance. Between 2019 and 2021, he toured in France and Belgium as a performer, and since 2019 he has been teaching acrodance workshops in Italy and across Europe.
Among the European festivals where he has taught are B12 research or die in Berlin, Henny Jurriens Studio in Amsterdam, and Frei Art Festival in Freiburg.
